Freehold
Township was established in 1693, and is one of the three
original townships in Monmouth County, New Jersey.
Characterized by a country-like atmosphere dotted with picturesque
horse farms and scenic orchards, Freehold Township is also
a modern community that offers residents many advantages.

Township is conveniently located in central New Jersey midway
between New York and Philadelphia. The New Jersey
Turnpike, Route 9 and Route 33 give Freehold residents the
opportunity to travel easily to all regions of the Garden
State. Located within a half hour's drive to the Jersey
Shore, Freehold Township also boasts one of Monmouth County's
premier shopping centers, Freehold Raceway Mall and a vast

The Township
owns and operates 14 parks and is home to Monmouth County's
Turkey Swamp Park as well as New Jersey's Battlefield State
Park. Golf courses, lakes and other recreational amenities
are plentiful in and around Freehold Township, which is
